This guide explains how to send ecommerce events from a Shopcore store to Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager. After setup, purchases can be tracked in analytics and used as conversions for Google Ads campaigns.

Before starting, make sure Google Merchant Center is already configured and your products are uploaded there. Product ads need a proper product base; purchase events alone are not enough for a complete advertising setup.

Process overview

  1. Install Google Tag Manager on the store.
  2. Create or connect a Google Analytics 4 property through GTM.
  3. Create a purchase event in Google Tag Manager.
  4. Check that ecommerce events arrive in Google Analytics 4.

Shopcore sends order data to the dataLayer. Google Tag Manager catches the purchase event and sends it to GA4, where it can be used for analytics and advertising optimization.
