Connecting Google Merchant Center in Shopcore

Connecting Google Merchant Center in Shopcore

Prepare your store and product feed for Google Shopping and Performance Max campaigns.

Google Merchant Center is used to send products from your Shopcore store to Google. After connection, products can be used for free listings, Google Shopping ads, or Performance Max campaigns.

Before you start

  1. The store should work on a custom domain.
  2. The domain should use HTTPS without SSL errors.
  3. SEO indexing should be enabled.
  4. Product pages should be publicly available.
  5. The import/export module and Google Shopping provider should be enabled in Shopcore.
  6. Product categories should have Google category data filled in.

Merchant Center checks both the product feed and the product pages on the website. If Google sees a closed site, a technical domain, noindex pages, or incomplete product data, products may not pass moderation.

Process overview

  1. Connect a custom domain and enable SEO indexing.
  2. Enable the import/export module and Google Shopping provider.
  3. Fill in Google categories for product categories.
  4. Create or open a Google Merchant Center account.
  5. Add and verify the store website.
  6. Create an export gateway in Shopcore and copy the product feed URL.
  7. Add that URL in Merchant Center as a product source.
